Fun pic of the day - Autopsy of an Atari 2600

September 5, 2010

Ever wondered what an Atari 2600 looks like inside? Well, the team over at ifixit were curious enough to go ahead and tear one apart, you know, just for kicks. In a step-by-step description of the process, the guys discovered that for its size, the Atari 2600 didn't really have a whole lot going on inside of it. They also discovered: Read More

Fun pic of the day - Game Warning

August 25, 2010

Now if only more games came with warnings like this one - I wonder how many gamers would still play them? I particularly like the sentence where it says "This game plays you as much as you play it". It kinda reminds me of that classic movie WarGames which brought new meaning to being 'pwnd' by a game.

Fun pic of the day - Now Entering Silent Hill

August 22, 2010

If you haven't seen Silent Hill or played the games, you probably won't get the meaning behind this image. And if you haven't played Silent Hill yet, I highly recommend you do - it's just one of those classic survival horrors that you kinda have to experience at least once. The movie is equally as good - creepy and scary as hell. Just about right I'd say!

Fun pic of the day - If you ever encounter a Predator

August 4, 2010

The latest Predator movie 'Predators' released not so long ago and I have to say, I enjoyed it. And I really enjoyed the games as well - especially the trophy-taking sequences that received so much media attention for being too violent. So just in-case you ever encounter a Predator out there in the wild - this guide has you covered, although you might want to just skip all the steps except the last one ;)

Fun pic of the day - Limbo: Raising the Bar

July 26, 2010

If you haven't had a chance to check out Limbo from the XBL Marketplace, you might not get the humor in this image right away. But I've spent a few hours playing Limbo and can totally relate to this - the water in the game is a damn nuisance sometimes. The guys from Virtual Shackles obviously understand this and wanted to do something about it - in their own unique way!

Fun pic of the day - Original NES 8-bit Bioshock box artwork

July 22, 2010

Some of the artwork based on video games is incredible. If there's one thing I remember from Bioshock, it would have to be that the visuals in the game were some of the best I'd seen and this piece of artwork definitely captures that.

God of War Movie trailer

July 18, 2010

I've seen quite a few fan-made video clips featuring storylines taken from popular games and I have to admit, some of them are damn cool. This God of War parody comes from video game blog Gamer Vision. The website has featured various parodies before but this is the first one I've seen.

The website details the full cast and crew involved in the project but here's a snippet of the synopsis for you: Read More

Vintage video games on fire!

July 13, 2010

Gaming fans keep coming up with the most unique and fantastic ways to show their appreciation for video games. This video features some of the world's most loved video games - Pac Man, Tetris, Pong etc all displayed using candles and some awesome camera work. From the website:

All I can say is ..this took over 2 weeks to do. A lot of fire, A lot of smoke, a lot of heat, and a whole lot of frustration.

All the hard work really paid off because this is awesome!

Need somewhere to play games? Starbucks should work!

June 30, 2010

This picture was taken by a Reddit reader who couldn't believe his eyes when he spotted some random dude sitting in front of his small TV playing on his Xbox 360. Now, I've heard of desperate measures for desperate times but seriously, Starbucks?!? I'm really surprised the guy didn't get told to leave by the Starbucks staff. What is the policy on this sort of thing anyway? And the title for this post was right to the point - DON'T let this become a trend in your Starbucks...

Weird and whacky - Butt Scan

June 13, 2010

There are so many free games out there, it would be a crying shame not to write about them. In particular, some of the weirder WTF games like this one from BadHed and Gimme5games.

The object of the game is pretty simple - as the title suggests, you must make as many scans of your butt on the photocopier as you can before getting caught and fired. The game instructs you to avoid sober work mates but drunk work mates are OK.

If you're like me and don't care how many times curiosity killed the cat, you can check the game out for yourself right here. And I have to admit, finding this game was definitely a 'WTF' moment indeed...

My record is 9 scans lol! Think you can beat it? Go ahead, you might even get your name on the scoreboard :)
